Nope, my "real name" isn't here. If you're a fanzine (that's "fanzine" in the Chauvenet [1940] sense -- the Wikipedia definition has got it right) fan, you're probably annoyed by this cliquey-cliquey nonsense. I've decided to mildly cloak my meatspace identity here, just so that I'm not constantly wondering "should I write this or make something or another publicly known" when I'm in LJ space.

Yeah, I'm sometimes really insecure about what others think of me. So why bother to write anything here? Because I'm much less insecure with actual friends, and I'm pretty unconcerned with the reactions of random net strangers. That covers most of the bases. I'm a lot more twitchy with respect to family and work contacts, and they're unlikely to stumble across this by accident. And if they do, well....I guess they get to be surprised by what they read here.
